Temporary closure dates of the 26th Street Bridge over the Lafayette River have been changed. The bridge now will be closed before rush hour Thursday through next Sunday.
While the bridge is closed, all through traffic on Lafayette Boulevard and 26th Street will be detoured to Lindenwood Avenue.
The 26th Street Bridge project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 1997.
The bridge will be closed to traffic about once a month for three to four days at a time.
At all other times, there will be one lane of traffic going in each direction. by CNB
