Annie Elizabeth Brown, 88, of died Aug. 28, 1996, in Columbia, Md., after a short illness.
Born in Chowan County, N.C., she was the widow of George G. Brown Jr. and daughter of the late Ida Mae Briggs and Octavious Smith of Chowan Co., N.C. She was a mother and retired retail manager. She was a lifetime member of Indian River Baptist Church. She had made her home recently with her daughter, Mrs. Marvin C. Yoder of Fulton, Md.
Survivors include a son, George Gilbert Brown III of Lowndesboro, Ala.; three daughters, Jeanette Yoder of Fulton, Md., Nancy Harris Williams of Chesapeake, Beverly Bergmann of Castlebury, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Baker of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Lena Blanchard of Barco, N.C.; a half sister, Mrs. Marjorie Ashley of Tyner, N.C.; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Wilbur E. Brown and Stanley A. Brown.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at he funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
