Lucile Upshur Mapp, died Friday Aug. 23, 1996, in Leesburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cheriton, Va., she was the daughter of the late William M. Upshur Jr. and Lucile Snow Upshur. She was a member of Leesburg Presbyterian Church and received a bachelor's of science degree from Longwood College. She was a teacher of commercial subjects at Maury High School, Norfolk, and Cape Charles High School, Cape Charles.
Survivors include her husband, John Alfred Mapp Sr.; two sons, John Alfred Mapp Jr. and wife, Kathy O'Dell Mapp, William Upshur Mapp, all of Orlando, Fla., three sisters, Mrs. J. Linwood Walker Jr. of Nassawadox, Mrs. Ernest Mapp Dunton of Exmore and Mrs. Jacob Lee Johnson of Winchester, Va.; two grandchildren, Nathan Russell Mapp and Mary Elizabeth Mapp of Orlando.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, in Cape Charles Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Anthony W. Dick. Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home, Cape Charles, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. A memorial service was conducted Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Orlando, with the Rev. Bryan Stamper officiating.
