Melba Lee Owens, formerly of the 6300 block of Whitehorn Drive, died Sept. 2, 1996, in Beverly Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Norfolk, she was the widow of Wilbert Owens. She is survived by her mother, Audrey Boney; three sisters, Audrey Brown of Portsmouth, Elsie McInnis and Martha Boney, both of Norfolk; three brothers, John, Oliver and Marvin Boney, all of Norfolk; two aunts, Elizabeth Moore of Norfolk and Ruth Wells, both of the Bronx, N.Y.; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Ola Moore in Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family and friends will assemble Saturday at 731 E. 28th St. at noon where they are also receiving friends.
