Daisy Gambill Dawson, 92, of the 2500 block of Chesapeake Ave., died Sept. 6, 1996.
She was born in Wilkes Co., N.C., on May 3, 1904. She was the daughter of the late Montgomery G. and Arlene Gambill, and the wife of the late Deems Dawson. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Agnes Lower Perkins of Ashland, Ky., Gail Burchette Pittman, Dorothy Burchette Elliott, both of Norfolk, Vera Burchette High of Chesapeake; a son, Earl Lowe of Winston-Salem, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dawson lived with Vera and James High and two grandchildren, Jamie and Jessie, she taught them many things as grandmothers do, one very special song that they will always remember that she taught them is the ``Titantic Song'' these two girls were very special to her.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Pastor Terry Coats officiating. Twiford Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is in charge of all arrangements.
