HARTLEY G. BARNETTE SR.

Hartley G. Barnette Sr., 74, of the 4000 block of Woolsey St., died Sept. 11, 1996, in a local hospital.

Born in Arcola, W.Va., he was retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station. He was a member of the Musicians Union.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Barnette of Norfolk; two daughters, Debra K. Nobles of Virginia Beach and Angela M. Scodes of Norfolk; four sons, Hartley G. Barnette Jr., Howard Paul Barnette, William Ray Barnette and Jeffrey James Barnette, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Elsie Selman of West Virginia and Helen Holbrook of Ohio; a brother, Carl Barnette of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Larry Miles in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
