The fall session of the People's Law School will begin Sept. 19 and run for five consecutive Thursday nights, offering participants a basic overview of legal issues.
The noncredit classes will cover pet law, violent crime, wills and trusts, entertainment law, contracts and franchising. The sessions are a project of the American Trial Lawyers Association and have been sponsored locally by the law firm of Breit, Drescher & Breit.
Local judges, attorneys and other professionals will be among the speakers.
Classes will be held from 7 to 8:45 p.m. in the Science Auditorium of Virginia Wesleyan College. The cost of the six-week program is $25, which includes all course materials.
