CLARIFICATION/CORRECTIONS

ILLUSTRATION: CLARIFICATION

A graphic illustration on Sunday's MetroNews front page headlined

``Telephone Trickery'' was not a reflection on Bell Atlantic, whose

invoice was shown. Bell Atlantic does not provide the pay-per-call

services referred to in the story - it is just the billing agent.

CORRECTIONS

Robert Smith, a co-plaintiff in a congressional district lawsuit,

is a customer services representative and specialist for a

credit-card service company. His employment was wrong in a Sept. 11

story about a court ruling on the 3rd Congressional District.

Andre Howell is a student at Elizabeth City State University. A

photo caption on Monday's Daily Break had the wrong school.

A story in Monday's Metro News section about the 20th anniversary

of Our Own Community Press made reference to another Hampton

Roads-based newspaper serving the gay and lesbian community, Out &

About. The story described the newspaper as being about half the

size of Our Own. Out & About, which reports a statewide readership

of about 60,000, publishes about 40 pages monthly compared to Our

Own's 48 pages monthly. by CNB
