Howard Thomas Troxler, 71, of the 3700 block of Silina Drive, died Sept. 18, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Troxler was a retired master chief in the U.S. Navy and was also a retired civil service employee at NAS Oceana. He was a native of Spray, N.C., and was a member of the USS Coral Sea Veterans Association and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Marceline Troxler; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Gray of Suffolk; three sisters and a brother, all of Eden, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial will be at the Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials can be made to the Plaza Rescue Squad.
