Bruce Kennon Griggs Sr., 60, of the 100 block of Kingsdale Road, died Sept. 18, 1996, in the Hampton Veteran's Affairs Hospital.
A former auto salesman, Mr. Griggs was an Army veteran. He was the widower of Marie B. Griggs. He was a Suffolk native and was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Powell Griggs, and his father, Dudley Griggs.
Survivors include his son, B. Kennon Griggs Jr. and his wife, Tiffany, of Chesapeake; sisters, Nita G. Winslow of Sunbury, N.C., and Jackie G. Lanier of Franklin, Va.; a brother, Bill Griggs of Williamsburg, Va.; and two grandchildren; and a friend and companion, Lucy Klass of Suffolk.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Rob Vaughan. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Hospice Unit of the Hampton V.A. Medical Center, Hampton, Va. 23667. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
