STATE RELEASES LIST OF ``10 MOST WANTED'' CHILD SUPPORT EVADERS FATHER WHO OWES THE MOST - $60,176 - HAS 23-YEAR-OLD CHILD IN CHESAPEAKE.

Virginia released its latest ``10 Most Wanted Child Support Evaders'' list Thursday, the 10th since the program began in 1989.

Four of the parents have children in Hampton Roads, and the father on the list who owes the most has a child from Chesapeake.

William A. Shaver, whose last known address is Chesapeake, owes $60,176 in child support to a 23-year-old child. Child support officials believe the 54-year-old Shaver has left the country for Central America to avoid having his property seized as a result of past-due child-support payments.

Virginia began devising ``10 Most Wanted'' lists in 1989. Of the 87 parents on previous lists, 18 have been located. The lists do not necessarily include the parents who owe the most, but rather evaders the department is having the hardest time tracking down.

More than $850 million in child support payments is owed in Virginia, and the lists are just one tool used to collect them.

Other parents on the list whose child support cases are from Hampton Roads offices are:

Roy Everett Copeland Jr., 30, last known address Daytona Beach, Fla., owes $9,475 in child support to one 8-year-old child in Virginia Beach.

Frank Herbert Drees, 54, last known address Hertford, N.C., owes $25,497 in child support to four children aged 18 to 25 in Hampton.

Carey Foster, 40, last known address Newport News, owes $9,956 in support to a 19-year-old in Norfolk.

The remaining six people on the list are:

Eric Buchwald, 33, last known address Richmond, owes $32,638 to a 9-year-old child an 11-year-old.

James William Campbell, 53, last known address St. Augustine, Fla., owes $23,489 in payments to a 24-year-old child.

Jose Luis Dole, 50, last known address Denver, Colo., owes $12,969 to one 26-year-old child.

Ralph Jonathan Edmonds Sr., 34, last known address Blackstone, owes $35,563 to three children aged 9, 10 and 20.

Harvey E. Taylor Sr., 45, last known address Richmond, owes $19,638, to an 18-year-old.

Ricky Hamilton Taylor Sr., last known address Alexandria, owes $31,554 to a 6-year-old child.
