William H. Gatson, 80, died Sept. 21, 1996.
Mr. Gatson, the widower of Hilda M. Gatson, was a Kentucky native and was retired from Newport News Shipbuilding. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, James W. of Suffolk and William of Idaho; a daughter, Claire of California; a sister, Wilma Sebastian of Florida; and five grandchildren, including Daniel and Ashley Gatson of Suffolk.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev. Tim Piland. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge.
