NATHANIEL W. HOLLAND

Nathaniel ``Jack'' Walter Holland, 75, of Shore Drive, died Sept. 21, 1996, in Albemarle Hospital.

Mr. Holland was born in Windsor, Va., and was a retired general foreman shipfitter for Norfolk Naval Shipyard and production superintendent in Subic Bay, Philippines Islands. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Powell's Point Baptist Church. He was the first president of the Olive Branch Little League Baseball. Mr. Holland was the husband of Julia Campen Holland of the residence and the son of the late Junius Walter and Iola Lewis Holland.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Nathaniel Walter Holland ``Jack'' Jr. of Richmond; four sisters, Blanche West of Smithfield, Iola Saunders and Garnell Chapman, both of Chuckatuck, Va., Junie V. Forrest of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Matthew Walter Holland and Meredith Louise Holland, both of Richmond.

A funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Powell's Point Baptist Church by the Rev. Herbert Hemmingway Sr. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Suffolk, with military rites provided by the Clarence Jackson VFW Post (NU)6060. The family will receive friends at the residence. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, is charge.
