LESSIE M. ROBERTS

Lessie Mae Roberts, of the 1200 block of Colonial Ave., died Sept. 21, 1996, in Norfolk General Hospital.

A homemaker, she was born in Northampton County, N.C. She was the widow of Mercell Roberts and a member of Saint Paul United Holy Church, Norfolk, where she was church mother, a Sunday school teacher and choir member.

Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis L. Ricks, Regina L. Lee, Leslie L. Blanchard, all of Norfolk, Morlene S. Lee of Chesapeake; two sons, Eddie M. Lee of Hattiesburg, Miss., Richard Lee of Germany; two sisters, Mozell C. Winston of Norfolk and Byrdell C. Branch of Portsmouth; a brother, Eldyn G. Cowan of Norfolk; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by Elder Samuel Logan in Jerusalem United Holy Church, 1602 Hoover St., Chesapeake. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends at 1212 Leander Drive, Norfolk.
