Clyde Rosser Bowles, 76, of the 1200 block of Hartford Court, died Friday Sept. 27, 1996, in Sentara Nursing Center.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1919, in Portsmouth, the son of the late Ashby Jones Bowles and Priscilla Elizabeth Whitely Bowles. Clyde was the widower of Mary Rollo Bowles. He was an Episcopal and a member of The International Order of Odd Fellows, Lafayette Lodge (NU)9 and a retired instrument repairman of Naval Air Station Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Bowles Berry and her husband, Wayne C. Berry of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Erin Berry King of Richmond; and a grandson, Brian Christopher Berry of Virginia Beach.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Christ and Saint Luke's Church with the Rev. Win Lewis officiating. Interment will be held in Olive Branch Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, suite 233, 20 Kroger Executive Center, Norfolk, Va. 23502. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
