Courtney M. Whitehead, 82, died Friday, Sept. 27, 1996, in Farmville, Va.
Mr. Whitehead was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Prince Edward County, Va. Mr. Whitehead retired from Cape Hatteras EMC where he was a line superintendent.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; two sons, Courtney M. Whitehead Jr. of Buxton, N.C., and Hugh Allen Whitehead of Bethany, W. Va.; three daughters, Mary Kay Whitehead of Virginia Beach, Sara Lynn Bergloff and Lucinda J. Whitehead, both of Pamplin. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Spring Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
