Margaret Jean Lankford, 68, of the 300 block of Chautauqua Ave. died Friday Sept. 27, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a native of Chesapeake and was the widow of James Walter Lankford Sr. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Boedker of Moyock, N.C.; three sons, Jim W. Lankford Jr. of Portsmouth, Larry A. Lankford of Norfolk, Robert P. Lankford of Newport News; a brother, Harry Lee Everette of Colonial Heights, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. G. W. Harley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
