Mrs. Susan Drake Griffin, 53, of 5220 Revere Road, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 1996, in Durham Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Griffin was a native of Elizabeth City and had been a resident of Durham for over 30 years. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Lorena Scarborough Drake. She was a homemaker and an artist. She was a member of the Parkwood Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Bill Guy Griffin; a son, Stephen Edward Griffin of Durham; three daughters, Sandy Griffin, Patricia Griffin, Kelly Griffin, all of Durham; two brothers, Bobby Drake of Iowa, Kenneth Drake of Elizabeth City; a sister, Ruth Thomas of Columbia, N.C.; and a grandson, Kenneth Griffin.
Memorial funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Hudson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service. Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the Durham Animal Protection Society, 2117 E. Club Blvd., Durham, N.C. 27704.
