Bertha R. Tillette, 83, of the 8100 block of Kenwood Drive, died Sept. 28, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Tillette was a native of Great Bridge and grew up in South Norfolk. She was the widow of Avery L. Tillette. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Norfolk. She was an artist and taught art in her sister's studio for over 20 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda May Sorensen and her husband A.J. of Virginia Beach; a sister, Alice Lilly Ives of Norfolk; and a grandson, Aaron J. Sorensen of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Riverside Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. William E. Amon. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6 7:00 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Tidewater Chapter. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk will be handling the arrangements.
