Ellis M. ``Buddy'' Stallings, 70, of the 1000 block of Jewell Ave., died Sept. 29, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was a native of Gates County, N.C., and was the widower of Elizabeth S. ``Betty'' Stallings. Mr. Stallings was an estimator for McDaniel Roofing and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church, life member of Western Branch Volunteer Fire Company and past president of Simonsdale Civic Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda S. Stallings and Diane K. Stallings, both of Portsmouth; a son, Thomas E. Stallings, and his wife, Dianne of Smithfield; and two grandchildren, Suzanne K. Stallings and T. Craig Stallings.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. Albert Peverall Jr. and the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewater Chapter of the American Heart Association.
