The 16-year-old driver of a car that struck and injured three Tallwood High School students Sept. 20 was charged with reckless driving and other infractions Tuesday, police said.
The driver, whose name wasn't released because of his age, is also a Tallwood student.
One of the injured students, 15-year-old Nicole D. Jones, is still in the hospital, police said. The other two students weren't as seriously hurt.
The accident happened near the high school when a car careened out of control onto a sidewalk where the three students were walking.
The teen-age driver also faces charges of driving without a state inspection sticker, having an improperly registered car, and driving with improper equipment. Police said the car's custom steering wheel was too small.
