Essia Johnson, 89, of the 700 block of Wiley Drive, died Sept. 29, 1996, in a local heath care center.
A native of Norfolk, she was a retired domestic.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Thomas of Norfolk; a son, David C. Johnson of Norfolk; a brother, William Peele of Roselle, N.J.; two grandchildren, David C. and Kirk Snead, both of Norfolk; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Graves Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Anthony Moses. Cremation will follow the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:40 p.m. for services. Friends may join the family at 555 Liberty St. for visitation.
