Betty A. Minter, 82, of the 3900 block of Davis St. died Oct. 2, 1996, in her home.
Mrs. Minter was a seamstress retired from Hurst Tent and Awning and a native of Leaksville, N.C. She was the widow of Roy Lee Minter.
Survivors include her daughters, Jacqueline Bateman and Joan Dillon, both of Virginia Beach; sons, Douglas Minter of Virginia Beach and Terry Minter of Norfolk; brothers, Horton Pruitt of Virginia Beach, Gordon Pruitt of Eden, N.C., and Calvin Pruitt of Durham, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Hopkins.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
