Cottie Elizabeth Boyce, 88, died Oct. 3, 1996.
A native of Pinetown, N.C., Mrs. Boyce was a self-employed homemaker and the widow of Lenis Melvin Boyce. She was also a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include daughters Alma Hensley of Virginia Beach, Doris Nelson of Denver and Dorothy Munn of Virginia Beach; a son, James M. Boyce of Virginia Beach; sisters, Reba Osborne of Pinetown, Irene Sigmond of Washington, N.C., and Eula Waters of Chesapeake; brothers, William Thomas Browney of Collinsville, Ill., and Hilton Browney of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hymie Elizabeth Browney, and her father, William T. Browney Sr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Amos Eby. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, Chesapeake.
