ALFRED R. COBB

Alfred Raby Cobb, 77, of the 7500 block of Mill Creek Drive died Oct. 4, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

A native of Isle of Wight County, Mr. Cobb was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Zuni. He was an elder and former Sunday school teacher and a former member of the Zuni Ruritan Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired contractor. He was predeceased by his mother, Indiana Barrett, and his father, William Alfred Cobb.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline L. Cobb; a daughter, Rebecca C. Dowty, and son-in-law, Claude, of Zuni; sons Ronald Alfred Cobb and daughter-in-law, Vicki, of Zuni, William H. Cobb and daughter-in-law, Kim, of Zuni; brothers, Warren R. Cobb of Ivor, Va., John P. Cobb of Zuni and Russell T. Cobb of Suffolk; seven grandchildren, Robert C. Spruill, Janice L. Hayden, Brenda A. Weaver, Brooke A. Cobb, William W. Cobb, Michele C. Musolino, Justin Travis Cobb; three great-grandchildren, Brennan T. Weaver and Lauren and Victoria Musolino.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. John Hartman, the Rev. T.A. Powell and Ruffin Alphin. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and at other times at the residence, 7523 Mill Creek Drive.
