LETA L. BEENE

Leta L. ``Beene'' Beene, 71, of the 600 block of Argyll St. died Oct. 5, 1996, in Sentara Village of Chesapeake.

A retired clerk at the Naval Air Station Supply Center, Mrs. Beene was the widow of Sylvester D. Beene. She was a native of Lee County, Va. She was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Beene-Brichter, and her husband, Jobey, of Chesapeake; a son, Leslie Beene, and his wife, Sandy O'Brien, of Virginia Beach; a sister, Lucille Elkins of Germantown, Ohio; brothers, Bradley Litton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lester Litton of Lakeside, Ohio; six grandchildren, Whitney, Olivia and Jessica Brichter of Chesapeake, Brandon Beene, Natalie and Carrie O'Brien of Virginia Beach; nieces, Betty Kilgore and husband, George, and son, Sean, of Norfolk, Patty Darnell of Tennessee, Kathy Grubb of Alabama, Robin Dodson of Texas, Nancy Scism of North Carolina, Peggy Vaden of Georgia, Linda Benson of Pennsylvania, Sharon Newton of Virginia Beach and Christa Litton of Ohio; nephews David Elkins of Indiana, Jimmy Elkins of Tennessee, Jeffrey Litton of New York, Danny Litton of Norfolk, Barry Elkins, John Elkins, Darin Elkins and Lester Litton Jr. of Ohio; special friends Joe and Clara Brichter, Thelma Wynn, Esther Grimes and residents and staff of Sentara Village of Chesapeake.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by the Rev. Lester Litton. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Foundation of Chesapeake General Hospital. The family will be at 621 Argyll St.
