ALBERT DOUGLAS PALMER

Albert Douglas Palmer, 54, of the 4300 block of Mountainleaf Court, died Oct. 4, 1996, in his home.

Born in New York, Mr. Palmer was raised in Exmore, Va., where he was a standout in football and track at Northampton High School. After attending the University of Alabama, he served in the Air Force as a survival instructor during the Vietnam War. He was a captain on a Merchant Marine ship for 15 years and upon his death had been managing Dyna Clean and Custom Maid with his wife, Alison. He was a member of Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge (NU)220 AF&AM, and the Princess Anne Bow Hunter Association.

Survivors include his wife, Alison Palmer; two daughters, Susan Helms of Japan and Stephanie Palmer of Centerville, Va.; and a sister, Lorraine Gillespie of Princess Anne, Md.

The family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. today, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Belle Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
