Mary Jane Haney, 75, of Sutherland and formerly of Norfolk, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 1996, in Colonial Heights Convalescent Center.
She was a native of Salem, N.J., widow of Earl H. Haney and daughter of the late William and Ethel Morgan Lodge. She was a retired schoolteacher for the Norfolk city public schools.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Sue and John T. Early of Virginia Beach and the Rev. Linda L. and the Rev. Bill R. Hoopes of Osgood, Ind.; son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Betty T. Haney of Sutherland; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Marietta Lodge of Clayton, N.J.; and four grandchildren, Dr. Thomas Earl Haney of Suffolk, David T. Haney of Sutherland, Lynn Hoopes of Osgood, Ind., and Lauren Early of Virginia Beach.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, with the Rev. Bill R. Hoopes, pastor of Osgood United Methodist Church, Osgood, Ind., officiating. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International, 120 Wall St., New York, N.Y. 10005-4001, or Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, Norfolk, Va. 23509.
