THE TRAGEDY OF PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTIONS

I am appalled that 41 of our senators did not vote to override the president's veto on the issue of partial-birth abortions.

Some who vote no object because there is nothing there for the protection of the ``health'' (not life) of the mother. She would be less traumatized if she gave the baby up for adoption than knowing she literally murdered a baby, her baby.

It's time we stopped with the empty rationalizations. Once a woman has conceived, she is no longer just a woman with a choice, she is now a mother who is either going to nourish the life form in her womb or go against everything the name ``mother'' implies and abort it.

There is no difference in a preemie and a partial-birth abortion baby other than a mother who chose life and one who chose to be rid of her inconvenience, even though there are many loving couples who long for an ``inconvenience'' of their own.
