Richard Elliott Jr., 71, of the 700 block of Little Neck Road, died Oct. 7, 1996, in his home.
A native of Duquesne, Pa., Mr. Elliott was a retired chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy with 21 years of service and a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service with 23 years of service. He was an active member of Lynnhaven United Methodist Church and the Thalia Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Alma Elliott; a daughter, Joyce E. Lowman of Willow Grove, Pa.; sons, James R. Elliott of Virginia Beach, Duane S. Elliott of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mark L. Elliott of Titusville, Fla.; sisters, Dorothy Downs and Olive Finney, both of Baltimore; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Bruce D. Tuttle. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Lynnhaven United Methodist Church or the Lion's Club.
