Enid M. Harrell, 82, of the 8600 block of Hammett Ave. died Oct. 7, 1996, in a local hospital.
A native of Aulander, N.C., Mrs. Harrell was the widow of Carlisle W. Harrell Sr., the founder of Be-Lo Food Stores. She was a faithful member of Talbot Park Baptist Church and her Sunday school class. She was a member of Triple ``L'' Club and Saints Alive. She actively participated in the activities of the Sunshine Group. She was an enthusiastic gardener and a creative quilter.
Survivors include her daughter, Enid H. Selph, and her husband, Steve Selph, of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Inez Dryden, and her husband, Dr. Spencer Dryden, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; three grandchildren, Amy C. Harrell of New York City, Stephanie E. Selph of Springfield, and Matthew Selph of Lexington, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Carlisle W. Harrell Jr.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Harry T. Dixon Jr. and the Rev. Keith Martin. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends at the residence any time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Talbot Park Baptist Church, 6919 Granby St., Norfolk, Va. 23505.
