Hilliary ``Moe'' Evans, 81, died Tuesday Oct. 8, 1996, at Mary Immaculate Hospital.
He was a native of Harrellsville, N.C., and a resident of Yorktown since 1988. Mr. Evans was a retired farmer and semi-professional baseball player. He was also a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Judith Leftwich of Yorktown, Elaine Amnott of Poland, Maine; two sons, Russell Evans of Williamsburg, W.S. Evans of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Ricks of Rocky Mount, N.C., Joyce Wallace of Richmond; a brother, J.C. Evans of Harrellsville.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, N.C. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. in Harrellsville Cemetery.
