Fred M. Williams, 56, of the 900 block of General Stuart Drive, quietly slipped away at home Oct. 8, 1996, after a long illness.
Mr. Williams was a native of Virginia Beach and a member of the First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach.
Survivors include his mother, who loved him dearly, Elma Cartwright Bunting; two sons, Morris C. Williams and Robert S. Williams of Greenville, S.C.; two daughters, Jacqueline W. Peek of Chesapeake and Patricia W. Squires of Portsmouth; two brothers, Sanford R. Williams of Lyons, Colo., and Robert A. Bunting of Midlothian, Va.; two sisters, Sonja B. Fraser of Ellicott City, Md., and Loretta P. Bunting of Virginia Beach. He was blessed and loved by six grandchildren, Robert A. Williams, Angela M. Williams, Jeffery R. Peek, David A. Peek, Kyle L. Squires and Kayla Marie. Mr. Williams is also remembered by his close friends, Michele Tarket, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wilkie and family.
A church service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach by the Rev. James C. Rittenhouse. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery, Elizabeth City, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (Virginia Beach Unit), 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, is in charge.
