Four more students have been suspended from Nansemond River High School, bringing the total to eight, after a disturbance last week at a pep rally, school officials said Tuesday.
School officials will recommend that the suspended students be expelled, said Bethanne Bradshaw, public information officer for the school system.
Nansemond High School administrators are investigating the violence that occurred last Friday. One student was taken to Obici Hospital, treated for an injury to his head and later released.
At least three skirmishes broke out - two in the gym during the pep rally for the homecoming football game and one at the bus ramp as students were preparing to go home, Bradshaw said. by CNB
