Leamon Watson, 72, of the 1200 block of Keats St., died Oct. 8, 1996, in his home.
A retired custodian for the U.S. Post Office, Portsmouth, with 25 years service, Mr. Watson was a native of Bellcross, N.C., and the widower of Birdie Watson. He was also an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his daughters, Judy Penn and Genevieve Palmore of Chesapeake; his sons, Lemorn Watson, Paul Watson, Allen Watson and Kermit Watson of Norfolk; 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many other surviving friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Campbell's Chapel AME Church, 3252 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Allen Clark. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral Home is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
