RANDOLPH F. PATTERSON JR.

Randolph ``Rand'' Fleming Patterson Jr., 45, of Mathews County and a native of Portsmouth, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1996. He had been an area resident for three years.

Rand was the owner of Cobbs Creek Woodworks and was a member of Kingston Parish Christ Episcopal Church, Mathews.

Survivors include his wife, Susan E. Patterson; his parents, Randolph F. Patterson Sr. and his wife, Peggy, of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Susan B. Yindra of Herndon, Va., Betsy R. Brown of Silver Spring, Md.; a brother, Peter J. Wrike of Cobbs Creek; three uncles, Harvey Patterson of Williamsburg, Bill Patterson of Suffolk, Tom Frost of Accomac. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sallie Frost Connolly.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Christ Episcopal Church, Mathews, with Rector Charles Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends in the parish house after the service. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Lymphoma Research Foundation of America, 8800 Venice Blvd., Suite 207, Los Angeles, Calif. 90034. W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home, Newport News, is in charge.
