Mary Elizabeth Coley Knee, of the 800 block of First Colonial Road, died at Hillhaven Convalescent Center in Virginia Beach on Oct. 13, 1996.
Mrs. Knee was a native of Montgomery, W.Va. She taught in the Virginia Beach School System and the Fayette County School System in West Virginia. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a longtime resident of Bay Colony, where she belonged to the Bay Colony Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband, Fredrick H. Knee; a daughter, Molly Eldridge; a sister, Helen Allen; a brother, Wade Coley; and two granddaughters, Sarah and Catherine Eldridge.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church by Dr. J. Scottie Griffin. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to an environmental organization of choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
