Guy Blaisdell Rhodes, 61, of the 1700 block of Cedar Road, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. Rhodes was born in Columbia, N.C., and was the son of Virginia Ludford Rhodes of Columbia and the late LeRoy Rhodes. He retired as an inspector with the Inspections Department of the City of Chesapeake after 18 years of service. Mr. Rhodes was a member of Grassfield Baptist Church.
Other survivors include his wife, Dorothy White Rhodes; his three daughters, Debbie Bowles of Glen Allen, Va., Virginia Rhodes and Misty Rhodes, both of Chesapeake; his two sons, Guy B. Rhodes Jr. of Blacksburg, Va., Dirk R. Rhodes of Hayes, Va.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Grassfield Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Mallory. Burial will be private. Viewing will begin Wednesday at Oman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Grassfield Baptist Church, 1772 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, Va. 23323.
