I feel that crime is an extremely important issue in this election, because my family and I have been victims on four occasions since 1991.
I will support Bill Clinton in this election because I believe he is following the right course in crime prevention. President Clinton has promoted the successful passage of the bill that will prevent assault weapons from being sold in gun shops across the land. Even Jim Brady, a member of the Reagan administration, appeared at the Democratic Convention to show has gratitude for Clinton's support of gun control legislation.
Bill Clinton has also supported the hiring of more police officers to enforce laws and arrest lawbreakers. Lastly, he has not bowed to powerful special interest groups such as the National Rifle Association, as has candidate Bob Dole.
