Carey Bridges Body, 63, of Dushore, Pa., and formerly of Wilmington, passed away Oct. 13, 1996, at the Laporte United Methodist Home after a yearlong illness.
Mrs. Body was born in Norfolk and was the oldest child of the late Frank J. and Leslie Carey Bridges. She was predeceased by a brother, F. Jefferson Bridges of Virginia Beach. She graduated from Maury High School, Norfolk, Class of 1951, and later attended the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary. Mrs. Body was a homemaker in Wilmington and in Dushore. She was a member of Christ Church, Christiana Hundred in Greenville, Del., the Junior League of Wilmington and the Eagles Mere Country Club.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, R. William Body of Dushore, and by three children, Bruce W. Body of Dushore, Ralph B. Body of Bangor, Maine, and Carey Stuart Spencer of Mystic, Conn. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be private and will be held at a later date. Contributions are suggested in lieu of flowers and should be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
