Henry Martin Gersch, 74, of the 1200 block of Candlewood Drive, died Oct. 12, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Born in Maspic, N.Y., he was a Catholic and retired from civil service for the Norfolk Naval Base. Mr. Gersch was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Gersch Bageant of Virginia Beach; a son, William Martin Gersch of Richmond; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Rosewood Memorial Park by Father Paschal Kneip, OSB. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
