Myrtle Hartley Perkins, 88, died Oct. 15, 1996, in a local nursing home.
She was the widow of Leonard Richardson Perkins Sr. A retired claims adjuster for the Richmond Life Insurance Co., Mrs. Perkins was a native of Richmond and a lifelong resident until moving to Virginia Beach in 1987.
Survivors include her son, Leonard Richardson ``Dick'' Perkins Jr. and his wife, Ann W. Perkins of Virginia Beach; two granddaughters, Margaret Richardson Perkins of Virginia Beach and Catherine Connell Pace and her husband, Andrew Pack; and three great-grandchildren, Richard Jay Wiese Jr., Catherine Victoria Wiese and Jesse Kyle Pace, all of Bessemer City, N.C.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Signal Hill Memorial Park, Hanover, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made the American Heart Association, 360 Southport Circle, Suite 104, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
