Raymond Grant died Oct. 12, 1996.
Born in Boykins, Va., he was the widower of Lucy Grant and a member of New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Ellen Harris, Gladys Hilliard, Ethel Cooper, Nellie Kitrell; two sons, Raymond Grant Jr., James Grant; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Josie Flythe and June Grant.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, by the Rev. Milton Blount. Burial will be in Severn Church Cemetery, Severn. The family will assemble at 2104 Allison Drive, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
