Beverly McCallum Gilman, 31, of Virginia Beach, died Oct. 14, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Beverly was a native of San Diego. Beverly was active with the Kings Grant Elementary PTA, and was also very active as a kindergarten homeroom mom. She was a troop leader with the Daisys, Troop 4179. Mrs. Gilman was also the founder of the Lindsey E. Gilman Fund.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Lindsey E. Gilman. Survivors include her husband, Mark N. Gilman; one daughter, Sydney A. Gilman; one son, John W. Gilman, all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her mother, Renate Heidenreich McCallum; one brother, Billy McCallum of Clairemont, N.H.; one sister, Mary M. Escalante of Norfolk; an aunt and uncle, John and Debbie McCallum of Moorehead City, N.C.; her grandmother, Clara McCallum of Moorehead City, N.C.; her grandparents, Karl and Freida Heidenreich of Augsburg, Germany; a close family friend, J. Pappas, and numerous cousins, neices and nephews. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, aunt and sister, and will be greatly missed by all. She also predeceased by an aunt, Laura Juno.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday October 17, 1996 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1279 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, by Father Richard Mooney. Burial will be at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, 1631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach. There will be a Wake service at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, today at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Beverly McCallum Gilman Children's Fund, P.O. Box 952, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451.
