Haywood Sylvester Brewer, 78, of the 700 block of Quail Ave., died Oct. 16, 1996, in his residence.
Born in Edenton, N.C., Mr. Brewer was a self-employed shoemaker and former owner and operator of Brewer Shoe Repair, Liberty St., Chesapeake. He was a member of First Trinity A.M.E., Chesapeake, and a member of the Steward Board.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth P. Brewer; three sisters, Elizabeth Melton, Hazel Falkner and Fannie A. Jones; a brother, Sidney Brewer; a grandchild, Dawn L. Brewer; and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First Trinity A.M.E., Chesapeake, by the Rev. Linwood E. Daughtry. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
