A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR KOREAN WAR DEAD SET TODAY AT BEACH

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the 24th Street Park on the Oceanfront for the men and women killed in the Korean War.

The service, open to the public, is part of a weekend schedule of activities planned for the second annual Korean War Veterans Reunion. More than 1,000 veterans from all over the country who fought in the war, from 1950 to 1953, have registered for the gathering.

Displays of military equipment will be on view near 13th Street and the Boardwalk.

On Saturday, organizers are inviting the public to line Atlantic Avenue for a ``Welcome Home Parade.'' The march will begin at 1 p.m. at 12th Street and proceed north to 31st Street. A reviewing stand will be set up at 25th Street.

Active and retired military members will march in the parade, along with bands and war-era vehicles. by CNB
