I read with amusement the Oct. 12 letter regarding why the writer thought that Bob Dole was in the doldrums, and other negative thoughts relating to Dole's name.
Before he casts his obvious vote in November, I feel obligated to enlighten him on what's truly in a name. I need go no further than one word - ``Bill'' - of Clinton fame.
In the most practical sense, it means ``money due.'' I can't think of a more appropriate name to be given to our current president. I'm reminded of this ``Bill'' every week on payday and I wonder how long we'll pay for ``Bill's'' tax increase, ``Hill's'' ethics, or ``Bill's obstruction of justice. Need I mention the ``bills'' we incur for Hillary's ego?
In addition, our current president boasts frequently about the hundreds of ``bills'' he signs into law, all of which cost the taxpayer money - entitlements, regulations, enforcements and social engineering. As he photo-ops, he signs his infamous ``Bill'' to the taxpayer ``bill.''
Finally, the dictionary defines another ``bill'' as ``the jaws of a bird together with their horny covering.'' Jennifer Flowers, Paula Jones and several others would likely relate to that definition.
Ironically, the gentleman who wrote the letter defining ``bobs,'' ``doles,'' ``sleds,'' etc., was named ``Bill.'' Sorry, but most Democrats who open their ``bills'' end up with their claws in one of two places - in their mouths or in our pockets.
