WILLIAM L. SWAIN

William Lee ``Billy'' Swain died at the home of his brother and sister-in-law of the 4100 block of Loblolly Lane in Virginia at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1996.

He was born in Washington, N.C., on Feb. 1, 1950, and was self-employed as a carpenter. He was the son of Horace Swain and Annie Ruth Swain.

He was the father of two children, Kristin Ann Swain, 15, and Brandon Lee Swain, 14, of Crystal Lake, Ill. He is survived by four brothers and a sister, Randy of Virginia Beach, David of Cummins, Ga., Robbie and Lloyd, both of Bath, N.C., Annette of Bath and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted in North Creek Church in North Carolina at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 1996. The family will open their arms to his friends and extended family at the home of Marie Smith of Belhaven, N.C., today between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers and in Billy's honor, donations or contributions can be made at Wachovia Bank, P.O. Box 189, Belhaven, N.C. 27810 for a scholarship fund for his surviving children.
