Franklin H. ``Pappy'' Dill, 86, died Oct. 20, 1996.
Born in Greenville, S.C., he was a retired supervisor for the Public Works Center of the Norfolk Naval Base. Mr. Dill was a member of Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks (NU)38, Norfolk, and a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II and the Normandy Invasion.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie H. Dill; daughter, Iris Printz of Virginia Beach; half-sisters, Lila Belle Staton and Cynthia Lindsay, both of Greenville; three grandchildren, Wesley Printz, Jason Printz and Nicole Printz, all of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
