Air Force airman Travis J. Long, son of Terry Long, son of Terry
D. and Martha Jo Long of Onyx Lane, has graduated from basic
military training at Lackand Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Long is a 1995 graduate of Salem High School. An incorrect
photograph was used in the Armed Services list in the Oct. 18
Beacon.
The condemnation of East Ocean View in Norfolk was announced in
1993. A story in the Oct. 16 Beacon about the need for a
redevelopment and housing authority in Virginia Beach contained an
error.
The school spirit parade at Bayside Middle Sixth Grade Campus
will be Friday at 9 a.m. An education brief in the Oct. 20 Beacon
had an incorrect date.
Jo-Ann Mezzapesa, who operated the Who's On First stand at the
Farmer's Market before a fire Aug. 22 destroyed it, was not insured.
